KREDL to Tender 200 MW Solar at Pavagada Solar Park

Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL), the renewable energy implementing agency in Karnataka, will tender 200 MW of solar at the Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka.

The Government of Karnataka has approved the tendering of 200 MW solar by KREDL at Pavagada Solar Park, according to a release.

KREDL is awaiting approval from Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) to set the upper tariff ceiling for the proposed 200 MW tender. A KREDL official told Mercom, “KREDL is in the planning stages of the tender and the capacity will be tendered soon, once the KERC approves the upper tariff ceiling.”

According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, in the Pavagada Solar Park, NTPC retendered 250 MW of solar (DCR) and 750 MW of solar (Open) in March 2017.

The Pavagada Solar Park will be of 2 GW, capacity once complete. Out of the 2 GW, 1.6 GW is being tendered by NTPC, 200 MW by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and 200 MW by KREDL.
