The Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) has extended the bid submission deadline for its 1,200 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) project tender.

Project developers can now submit their bids for the desired capacities up to March 5, 2018. KREDL had initially tendered the capacity in January 2018.

The projects will be developed at the Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka’s Tumkur district and the distribution companies of the state will be the off-takers of the generated solar power.

A single bidder can bid for a minimum 50 MW and a maximum 1,200 MW of the grid-connected solar PV projects.

Previously, Mercom reported how Pavagada Park had to undergo various delays in the development of its transmission infrastructure.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, 600 MW was auctioned in the year 2016 under the first phase of Pavagada Solar Park’s development. The capacity was grid-synchronized in January 2018.

The Pavagada Solar Park was conceptualized in February 2015 and the park development began in January 2016.
