Independent renewable energy producer, Juniper Green Energy, has secured ₹17.39 billion (~$198.4 million) in debt financing from the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA).

The funds will be utilized to execute the company’s large-scale renewable energy projects and strengthen its operational capacity.

In February 2025, Juniper had raised $1 billion in debt from Power Finance Corporation, DBS Bank, HSBC Bank, and IREDA. The funding was intended to support its wind-solar hybrid and firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects.

As of June 2025, the company has an operational capacity of 1.45 GW. It recently commissioned a 103 MW solar component of its hybrid power project in Karanja, Maharashtra, and partially commissioned 25 MW of its 50 MW wind power project in Gujarat.

Juniper Green Energy is a part of the AT Capital Group, a globally diversified investment group based in Singapore that focuses on sectors including renewable energy, residential and commercial real estate, with a presence in India, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Europe.

In June 2025, Juniper filed its draft red herring prospectus to raise over ₹30 billion (~$349 million) through an initial public offering (IPO) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India. The IPO will consist of a fresh issue of equity shares with a face value of ₹10 (~$0.12) each with no offer-for-sale component. Juniper Green Energy plans to utilize the funds towards the repayment of its debt, amounting to ₹ 10.92 billion (~$127 million), and ₹11.57 billion (~$135 million) for its subsidiaries.

In April 2025, the company was one of the winners of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam’s (GUVNL) auction (Phase IX) to set up 250 MW grid-connected wind power projects with a greenshoe option of 250 MW in Gujarat. Juniper won 50 MW at a tariff of ₹3.65 (~$0.0427)/kWh.

In October last year, Juniper was one of the winners of GUVNL’s auction to supply power from 200 MW grid-connected wind power projects in India (Phase VIII).
