IREDA’s Revenue for Q4 Jumps 14% Amid Higher Loan Disbursements

Government-owned lender Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) posted revenue of ₹21.75 billion (~$229 million) in the fourth quarter (Q4) of the financial year (FY) 2026, up 14% year-over-year (YoY) from ₹19.04 billion (~$200 million).

The revenue growth came amid a 16% increase in annual loan disbursements and a 22% expansion in the loan book.

IREDA’s profit after tax (PAT) stood at ₹4.93 billion (~$51.8 million), down 2% YoY from ₹5.02 billion (~$52.8 million).

During the quarter, the board of directors of IREDA approved a ₹29.94 billion (~$330.14 million) fundraising through a qualified institutions placement.

Financial Year 2026

IREDA reported revenue of ₹83.09 billion (~$873 million), up 23% YoY from ₹67.42 billion (~$709 million).

Its PAT stood at ₹18.73 billion (~$197 million), up 10% YoY from ₹16.99 billion (~$179 million).

Disbursements for the year ended March 31, 2026, stood at ₹349.46 billion (~$3.67 billion), up 16% from ₹301.69 billion (~$3.17 billion) the previous year.

The company’s outstanding loan book stood at ₹930.7 billion (~$9.78 billion, up 22% from ₹762.82 billion (~$8.02 billion) the year before.

As of March 31, 2026, IREDA’s loan portfolio by sector included solar energy at ₹238.51 billion ($2.51 billion), up 26%; loan facilities to state utilities at ₹211.82 billion ($2.23 billion), an increase of 23%; wind power at ₹104.13 billion ($1.09 billion), up 11%; manufacturing at ₹89.84 billion ($944 million), rising 10%; hydro power at ₹81.13 billion ($853 million), increasing 9%; and ethanol at ₹74.69 billion ($785 million), up 8%.

The company raised ₹319.14 billion (~$3.35 billion) in borrowings during FY 2026, with outstanding borrowings of ₹778.46 billion (~$8.18 billion) at the end of March 2026.

Recently, IREDA entered into a facility agreement with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation to raise an external commercial borrowing of ¥28 billion (~$175.37 million), including a greenshoe option of ¥12 billion (~$75.16 million), to strengthen its funding base and expand its lending capacity.

IREDA reported revenue from operations of ₹21.3 billion (~$223.88 million) in the third quarter of FY 2026, a 25% YoY rise from ₹16.98 billion (~$178.47 million).
