Power transmission and renewable energy company IndiGrid has raised ₹15 billion (~$163.15 million) in funding through an institutional placement, bringing the total funds raised in the financial year 2026 to ₹19.38 billion (~$210.8 million).

IndiGrid Investment Managers, the investment management arm of IndiGrid, approved this fundraise last year.

Existing and new long-only domestic and global institutional investors, including 10 insurance companies and six mutual funds, participated in the institutional placement process. Domestic and foreign institutional investors contributed 78% and 12%, respectively, to the fundraise.

In all, approximately 92 million new units at a price of ₹163 (~$1.77) per unit were allotted through this institutional placement

IndiGrid’s net debt-to-assets-under-management (AUM) ratio will stand at approximately 57% after the latest fundraise. The company said this will help it scale its AUM to ₹450 billion (~$5 billion) while remaining under the 70% leverage cap.

In November 2025, IndiGrid raised ₹4.38 billion (~$47.64 million) through a preferential issue.

The company owns 43 power projects. These include 53 transmission lines totaling roughly 9,336 circuit kilometers, 16 substations with an approximate capacity of 25,050 MVA, about 1.1 MW of solar energy generation capacity, and 450 MW/900 MWh of battery energy storage systems.

The company’s current AUM stands at approximately ₹325 billion (~$ 3.6 billion).

IndiGrid has nine under-construction projects of ₹75 billion (~$815.78 million), including those of its sponsored development platform EnerGrid.

In December 2025, IndiGrid executed definitive agreements to acquire Gadag Transmission, an interstate transmission system (ISTS) project in Karnataka, for ₹3.72 billion (~$41.36 million). The transaction is expected to be completed within FY 2026.

The company also signed an agreement to acquire the NERES XVI Power Transmission ISTS project earlier in the year.
