The Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation (HPPCL) has invited bids for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the 5 MW Berradol Solar Power Project in Bilaspur district for five years.

Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹550,000 ($6,616). They must also deposit a tender document fee of ₹10,000 ($120).

Bids are due for submission on April 18, 2024, and bids will open on the same day.

Bidders must possess a valid registration with the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner and have an average annual turnover of ₹10 million ($120,288) in the last three financial years.

They must demonstrate having completed a contract that includes operation and maintenance of a grid-connected solar power project for at least one year. This entails completing three works for project capacity greater than or equal to 1 to 2 MW, two completed works for plant capacity between 2 and 4 MW, or one completed work for a plant capacity greater than or equal to 4 MW.

Firms blacklisted by central or state governments or with litigation history cannot participate in this tender. Joint ventures also cannot submit their bids for this tender.

Last December, the HPPCL floated a tender for designing, supplying, constructing, erecting, testing, and commissioning 50 MW solar projects anywhere in the state.

In May 2023, HPPCL also invited bids for the design, supply, construction, installation, and commissioning of a 3 MW solar power project in Sainj, in Himachal’s Kullu district. This was in addition to the tender for a 32 MW solar project in the state’s Una region that was floated in March of that year, which entailed end-to-end operation and maintenance work on the project on a turnkey basis.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, HPPCL has floated 112 MW of solar tenders as of December 2023.
