Engineering and consulting firm Gensol Engineering has bagged two international solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts with a cumulative capacity of 14.08 MW in Dubai with the Dubai Government Workshop and the Dubai Police.

The estimated value of the contract is ₹1.016 billion (~$12.29 million).

The two contracts encompass various aspects such as design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning.

Additionally, they include the responsibility for operating and maintaining the projects. The Dubai Government Workshop Warehouse project is expected to be commissioned by November 2023, while the Dubai Police project is expected to become operational in June 2024.

Both projects are expected to contribute to the UAE’s Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and affirm Gensol’s position as a trusted partner for delivering sustainable solutions.

Commenting on the development, Anmol Singh Jaggi, Managing Director of Gensol Engineering, said, “We are delighted with the new prestigious order wins in Dubai. With this, we also venture into international markets and mark a significant step towards fulfilling our global vision of driving sustainable energy transitions. In addition, multiple orders will be announced in the coming months.”

Over the years, Gensol has implemented ground-mounted and rooftop solar power initiatives, achieving a total capacity exceeding 590 MW.

The company is also expanding its operations into the electric vehicle (EV) sector. It is actively creating solutions tailored to different customer categories within the EV landscape, including passengers, fleets, and cargo.

Last month, Gensol was awarded an EPC contract by the Damodar Valley Corporation for an 8 MW ground-mounted solar power project power project in Jharkhand. The company will also oversee the project’s O&M for five years. Gensol had won the project by quoting ₹476 million (~$5.76 million) in the e-reverse auction.

Earlier, Gensol Engineering had acquired India-based solar tracker manufacturer Scorpius Trackers for ₹1.35 billion ($16.4 million). Gensol had said the acquisition would enable the company to provide end-to-end engineering and construction solutions to its customers.
