GAIL (India) has invited bids for the installation and commissioning of a 10 MW grid-connected solar power project at its Vijaipur complex in the Guna district of Madhya Pradesh.

The select contractor must take care of the project’s operation and maintenance for five years.

The scope of work also includes the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 33 kV cabling as per the project’s requirement and associated switchgear equipment, transformer, and metering equipment for connecting the project to the 33 kV GAIL substation.

The last date to submit the bids is July 12, 2023. Bids will be opened the following day.

Bidders will have to submit ₹5.03 million (~$61,337) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder must furnish an amount equivalent to 10% of the contract value as a performance bank guarantee.

The project must be commissioned within 11 months from the date of the issuance of the letter of award.

To be eligible, bidders should have completed one work of installed capacity of 8 MW or above, two projects of installed capacity of 5 MW or above each, or three projects of installed capacity of 4 MW or above each in the last seven years before the bid submission date.

Out of the completed projects, at least one should have been operational for one year as of the bid due date.

Also, the minimum average annual turnover of bidders during the last three financial years should be at least ₹268.9 million (~$3.28 million).

The net worth of bidders during the last financial year should be positive.

Additionally, the minimum working capital of bidders at the end of the last financial year should be at least ₹53.7 million (~$654,834).

Solar project developers from a country that shares a land border with India will also be eligible to bid on this tender if they are registered with the competent authority.

GAIL has mandated that the solar modules to be used for the project must be from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

Last December, GAIL (India) invited bids for the design, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of 600 MW (6 x 100 MW) of solar power projects at the Khavda Solar Park in the Kutch region of Gujarat.

Earlier, the company had invited bids for hiring a project management consultant to set up a 10 MW ground-mounted solar power project at GAIL’s Vijaipur Complex.
