France’s independent energy regulatory commission, La Commission de Régulation de l’Énergie (CRE), released feed-in tariffs for rooftop solar systems up to 100 kW capacity for the second quarter of 2022.

Separate tariffs have been issued depending on the system size and regions — the city and non-interconnected zones.

City

For rooftop solar systems of less than 3 kW, the tariff has been increased to €181.4 (~$190.56)/MWh from the €178.9 (~$187.93)/MWh last quarter. For systems above 3 kW and up to 9 kW, the tariff is €154.2 (~$161.98)/MWh, compared to €152 (~$159.67)/MWh in the previous quarter.

The tariff for systems ranging from 9 kW to 36 kW is enhanced to €111.5 (~$117.13)/MWh from €108.9 (~$114.40)/MWh in the previous quarter. For systems above 36 kW and up to 100 kW, the tariff is €96.9 (~$101.79)/MWh, compared to the preceding quarter’s €94.7 (~$99.48)/MWh.

France’s Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition announced the winners of its first round of auctions for commercial and industrial rooftop solar and ground-mounted solar projects for the 2021-26 period under the country’s Programmation Pluriannuelle de l’Energie or the multi-year energy procurement program.

France’s total installed solar photovoltaic capacity reached the 13.07 GW mark at the end of December 2021. According to the released data, a total of 761 MW of solar capacity was added in the last quarter of 2021, which marked a new record for quarterly installations. Energy from renewable sources accounted for 25% of the total energy consumption in the country in 2021.
