Electric vehicle (EV) charging platform, ACS Energy, has raised ₹11 million (~$124,149) in a pre-seed round from Infection Point Ventures.
The funding will be utilized to deploy over 5,000 UPI-enabled EV charging stations across Maharashtra and Gujarat using its smart AC chargers and ACS pay platforms.
It will also be used to develop advanced energy management systems for high-rise buildings. The ACS Energy system utilizes AI to manage loads and ensure payments are fast and transparent.
ACS Energy aims to bring smarter power distribution and load balancing for efficient energy usage in urban spaces.
The company is active in Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kerala, and Surat, and is expanding into areas where EV adoption is gaining momentum.
Jash Sheth, Founder and CEO at ACS Energy, said the company aims to make EV charging as simple as using a petrol pump.
Inflection Point Ventures has invested over ₹8 billion (~$90 million) across more than 250 startups. It is an angel investing platform that brings together over 24,000 CXOs, high net worth individuals, and professionals to invest in startups.
In the third quarter (Q3) of 2025, EV sales in India reached 560,637 units, an over 12.5% year-over-year increase from 497,974 units. EVs accounted for 8% of the overall automobile sales, which totaled 5,796,216 units in Q3, according to data released by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways through its Vahan Dashboard. India now has over 7.02 million registered EVs.
In October this year, the Ministry of Heavy Industries notified operational guidelines for deploying EV public charging stations under the PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement program. Subsidies will be provided for EV public charging stations and battery swapping stations, or battery charging stations. While subsidies will primarily cover upstream infrastructure costs, support may also extend to EV supply equipment costs in certain cases.
