The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency invited bids to set up 110 MW of solar power projects in Kanpur Dehat and Kanpur Nagar solar parks. The projects comprise 35 MW of solar projects in Kanpur Nagar solar park and 75 MW projects in Kanpur Dehat solar park. Bids must be submitted by May 27, 2025. Bids will be opessned on May 28. The scope of work entails setting up 110 MW solar projects on a build-own-operate-maintain basis.
The Military Engineer Services, Eastern Command, Shillong Zone, invited bids to install rooftop solar systems with a total capacity of 1,100 kW at Rangapahar Military Station in Nagaland. Bids must be submitted by May 22, 2025. Bids will be opened on May 24. The scope of work entails the design, procurement, quality control testing, supply, installation, integration with the planned electrical system, commissioning, and performance of the rooftop solar systems with capacities between 14 kW and 75 kW.
NTPC Green Energy invited bids for land and an extra-high-voltage transmission system package to develop up to 900 MW interstate transmission system-connected solar projects in Bhuj, Gujarat. Bids must be submitted by June 9, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day. Selected bidders must arrange government or private land at 5 acres/MW on a freehold or leasehold basis for a minimum of 29 years and 11 months. They must also complete fencing of the offered land with at least two gates and security cabins per tender drawings, excluding areas related to the transmission line.
Adopting solar energy can offer critical electricity bill savings for commercial and industrial (C&I) stakeholders. At a recent C&I Clean Energy Meet hosted by Mercom India in Mumbai, industry experts discussed savings on power bills by switching to solar and choosing between open-access and rooftop solar. Representatives from Enrich Energy, GSE Renewables, and Swelect Energy participated in the discussion.
REC, a state-owned infrastructure finance company, raised ₹50 billion (~$586 million) through the issuance of bonds. The offering included ₹30 billion (~$352 million) of five-year bonds at a coupon of 6.97% and ₹20 billion (~$234.6 million) through ten-year bonds at a coupon of 6.86%. The bonds received an “AAA” rating from credit rating agencies, including CARE Ratings, ICRA, and India Rating and Research.
Renewable energy company Adani Green Energy generated revenue of ₹26.66 billion (~$312.88 million) from power supply in the fourth quarter (Q4) of the financial year 2025, a 37% year-over-year (YoY) increase from ₹19.41 billion (~$227.79 million). The revenue growth was accompanied by a 35% increase in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), which reached ₹24.53 billion (~$287.88 million) at an EBITDA margin of 91%.
Private climate investment vehicle ALTÉRRA will invest $100 million (~₹8.52 billion) in the India-based renewable energy company Evren. The funds will be utilized to develop and construct up to ~11 GW of solar, wind, and battery storage projects in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh. Evren is a joint venture between Axis Energy Ventures India and Brookfield Asset Management. It aims to develop 6 GW of renewable energy assets in India in the next two to three years.
U.S.-based microinverter and battery storage supplier Enphase Energy reported a 35.22% YoY rise in revenue to $356.1 million in Q1 2025 from $263.34 million. The company attributed the revenue growth to rising sales of its microinverters and IQ batteries. It reported a net profit of $29.73 million, up from a net loss of $16.09 million in the same period last year.
