Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam issued a request for proposal to develop a 100 MW ground-mounted solar project under captive mode in the state’s Mandsaur district. Bids must be submitted by August 22, 2025. Bids will be opened on August 25. The scope of work entails the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the solar projects. It also involves providing operation and maintenance services for 25 years. Selected bidders must acquire any private land parcel within the identified revenue land to make it contiguous.

Renewable energy implementing agencies are increasingly coming out with tenders for renewables plus storage in response to the strong demand from the industry, Sunil Sharma, Director (NRE and RCM), Ministry of Power, has said. The 2020s are the decade of energy storage, Sharma said at a panel discussion titled ‘Energy Storage and Green Hydrogen: The Missing Links in India’s Renewable Energy Transition’ at the Mercom India Renewables Summit, 2025, held on July 24 and 25 in New Delhi.

NTPC Green Energy, Opera Energy, and Tata Power Renewable Energy won NHPC’s auction to develop 125 MW/500 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems connected to the intrastate transmission system in Kerala (Tranche I). NTPC Green won 40 MW/160 MWh capacity at a tariff of ₹434,000 (~$4,953.21)/MW/month at the Sreekantapuram substation. It also won another 40 MW/160 MWh at a tariff of ₹457,000 (~$5,215.70)/MW/month at the Pothencode substation. Opera won 15 MW/60 MWh capacity at a tariff of ₹438,000 (~$4,998.86)/MW/month at the Mulleria substation.

Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam issued a tender to develop a 60 MW grid-connected wind project under captive mode. The proposed capacity can be extended up to 62 MW, depending on the selected wind turbine generators. Bids must be submitted by August 22, 2025. Bids will be opened on August 25. The project will be implemented as a single wind farm, connected to the 132 kV Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company (MPPTCL) substation through pooling stations with 15 MW bays. The power from the wind project will be wheeled under open access to MPJN’s water pumping and water treatment plants.

NTPC Green Energy invited bids for the comprehensive operation and maintenance of its 250 MW Shimbhu ki Bhurj-I solar project for two months in Rajasthan. Bids must be submitted by August 4, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same date. Bidders are encouraged to visit the project site to familiarize themselves with the nature and scope of work, site conditions, and obtain all necessary information regarding the risks, contingencies, and other factors that may influence their bids.

The Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation issued a request for selection to set up a 40 MW/80 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) in Kolkata, West Bengal, under the build, own, operate, and transfer model. Bids must be submitted by September 18, 2025. The BESS must have two cycles daily for at least 12 years, which is also its mandated service life. It must also have a round-trip efficiency of 90%. It must have a system availability of over 95%. Only commercially established and operational BESS technology must be used for the project.

U.S.-based solar tracker and energy technology solutions firm Nextracker posted a revenue of $864 million for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, up 20% year-over-year (YoY) from $720 million. The revenue, however, fell short of the analysts’ expectations of $902.31 million. The revenue growth was supported by strong international demand, with a 27% YoY rise in international revenue and significant sales increases across key markets including North America, Latin America, Oceania, and Europe.
