The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy updated the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar modules, adding a capacity of 6,922 MW. The cumulative capacity of modules under ALMM now stands at 116,467 MW.  Gautam Solar added 2,372 MW to increase its capacity from 852 MW to 3,224 MW. Bluebird Solar’s capacity rose from 106 MW to 819 MW, increasing by 713 MW. Goldi Sun (Goldi Solar) expanded its capacity from 3,912 MW to 4,522 MW, and Rayzon Solar from 3,006 MW to 3,406 MW. Jakson Engineers added 85 MW to reach 1,209 MW, and Emmvee Energy added 12 MW to achieve a capacity of 3,276 MW.

The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission notified the third amendment to its Grid-Interactive Distributed Renewable Energy Generating Systems Regulations, opening up virtual and group net metering across consumer categories, codifying charge waivers, and adding battery storage incentives. The amendment follows a petition filed by Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam seeking virtual and group net metering in the state. According to the amendment regulations, under virtual or group net metering, an eligible consumer may install a distributed renewable energy project of more than 1 kW and up to 1 MW.

The Ministry of Railways invited bids to set up 1,733 kW grid-connected rooftop solar projects on its service and residential buildings at the Goshala and Nambari areas in Guwahati, Assam. The project’s expected cost/advertised value is ₹106.85 million (~$1.2 million). Bids must be submitted by October 28, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day. The scope of work entails the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar projects. It also involves annual and comprehensive services for five years. The solar projects will utilize two sets of modules, with capacities ranging from 10 kW to 100 kW and 100 kW to 500 kW.

Bridge and Roof Company issued an engineering, procurement, and construction tender for a balance of system package for a 600 MW (2×300 MW blocks) interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar project at NTPC Renewable Energy Khavda Renewable Energy Park-South Block in Gujarat. Bids must be submitted by October 27, 2025. Bids will be opened on October 28. The scope of work includes engaging an associate for the complete BoS package covering the development, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the 600 MW ISTS-connected solar project and its three-year operation and maintenance.

Waaree Renewable Technologies, the engineering, procurement, and construction arm of the Waaree Group, reported a consolidated revenue from operations of ₹7.75 billion (~$87.37 million) for the second quarter of the financial year 2026, a 47.73% year-over-year (YoY) increase from ₹5.24 billion (~$59.14 million). Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) stood at ₹1.58 billion (~$17.81 million), a 120.69% increase from ₹715.70 million (~$8.07 million) in the same quarter of the previous year. The company’s EBITDA margin was 20.39%. The company’s profit after tax (PAT) rose 117.40% YoY to ₹1.16 billion (~$13.12 million) from ₹535.20 million (~$6.03 million).

Gujarat-based solar module manufacturer, Solex Energy, received a work order worth over ₹5.44 billion (~$61.33 million) from the Spain-based renewable energy project developer Zelestra Group to manufacture and supply N-Type TOPCon 615/620Wp glass-to-glass solar modules. The order will be completed in tranches by February and November 2026. Solex Energy operates a fully automated 4 GW solar manufacturing facility at Tadkeshwar, near Surat, in Gujarat. The facility integrates advanced robotics, precision engineering, and quality systems to manufacture high-efficiency solar modules with power ratings of more than 600 W.

Government-owned lender, Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), reported revenue from operations of ₹20.57 billion (~$239.2 million) in the second quarter of the financial year 2026, a 28% year-over-year increase from ₹16.30 billion (~$189.5 million). This revenue growth can be attributed to the 31% expansion of IREDA’s loan book to ₹844.77 billion (~$9.82 billion), supported by approvals of ₹331.48 billion (~$3.85 billion) and disbursements of ₹150.43 billion (~$1.75 billion), which grew by 86% and 54%, respectively, compared to the previous year. Profit after tax rose to ₹5.49 billion (~$63.8 million) from ₹3.88 billion (~$45.1 million) in the same quarter last year.

EIB Global, the European Investment Bank’s development arm, is investing up to $60 million in the India Energy Transition Fund. The fund has a target size of $300 million and will channel equity and quasi-equity into greenfield infrastructure projects and growth-stage companies, which EAAA Alternatives will manage. Most commitments from this new greenfield infrastructure fund will go towards accelerating private capital investment in climate action and environmental sustainability, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, transmission, battery energy storage, and electric vehicles, and potentially supporting circular economy sectors such as recycling and wastewater management.
