Coal India (CIL) has invited bids to set up an 875 MW solar power project at Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam’s (RVUNL) 2,000 MW Solar Park at Pugal.

Bids must be submitted by August 12, 2025. Bids will be opened on August 13, 2025.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹5 million (~$57,907).

The scope of work entails the design, engineering, procurement, erecting, testing, and commissioning of the solar project.  It also involves providing comprehensive operation and maintenance services for two years.

Selected bidders must conduct multi–level inspections, store equipment at the site, and perform the project’s associated civil works. They must also monitor the modules’ performance data before they become operational. This data must be stored on-site and shared with CIL during the commissioning period.

The project’s capacity utilization factor must be at least 25%.

Modules and cells used in the project must be procured from an ALMM-authorized manufacturer.

Bidders must fulfill either of the two requirements:

  • Bidders must have engineered, procured, and constructed ground-mounted or floating solar projects of a minimum capacity of 175 MW on a turnkey basis over the last ten years. Each project must have had a minimum capacity of 44 MW.
  • Bidders must have executed ground-mounted or floating solar projects of a minimum capacity of 175 MW on a turnkey basis over the last ten years as a developer. Each project must have had a minimum capacity of 44 MW.

The average annual financial turnover of the bidders must be ₹12.63 billion (~$146 million) over the last three financial years. They must have a net worth of at least ₹4.2 billion (~$ 49 million).

Recently, CIL invited bids to set up a 1,000 MW ground-mounted solar project on a turnkey basis at the RUVNL’s 2,000 MW solar park in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district.
