Bridge and Roof Company Invites Bids for 2.3 MW Rooftop Solar Project in West Bengal

A Government of India enterprise, Bridge and Roof Company (India), has invited bids to set up a 2.3 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project at the Khidirpore Dock II, in Kolkata, West Bengal.

The last date to submit the bids is April 1, 2024. Bids will be opened on April 3.

The scope of work entails design, manufacturing, procurement and supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop solar project.

The successful bidder will win a comprehensive maintenance contract for ten years after one year of warranty for the project. The assessed value of the tender is ₹168.5 million (~$2.03 million). Bidders will have to incur the cost of the tender document which is ₹20,000 ($285) and furnish ₹2.68 million ($32,385) as earnest money deposit.

The proposed rooftop solar power project will generate 2.3 MW of power, situated across five individual warehouse terraces. The selected bidder will have ten months to complete the project.

To participate in the tender, the bidders should have completed similar work costing ₹138.4 million ($1.67 million), two completed works each equivalent to ₹101.1 million ($1.2 million) or three similar works each costing ₹67.4 million ($814,386).

Similar work here refers to the supply, installation, and commissioning of solar power projects in any central government, state government, union territories, autonomous bodies, or private sector.

The annual financial turnover of the eligible bidders should be no less than ₹50.6 million ($611,449) in the last three years. The bidder should not have incurred losses in more than two years in the last five years. They must also submit a bank solvency certificate no less than or equal to ₹67.4 million ($814,386).

Bidders should have adequate engineers on the company roll and should also own, lease, hiring arrangements for plants and machinery for execution of the work.

In 2022, the company also floated a tender for a consultant to install and commission a 2.25 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power project at the Khidirpore Dock II, with the project cost estimated at $1.7 million.
