Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO) has invited bids to set up six solar power projects of 100 MW capacity each in six regions of Maharashtra under the ‘Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojna.’

The projects will be allotted in Nagpur, Amravati, Aurangabad, Konkan, Nashik, and Pune. Individual solar project capacity will be 2 MW to 10 MW per the availability of substation connectivity. Successful bidders must provide comprehensive operation and maintenance for 25 years.

The last day to submit the bids is October 19, 2022.

Bidders must submit the earnest money deposit of ₹1 million (~$12,542)/MW in the form of a bank guarantee for the capacity offered.

MAHAGENCO will carry out reverse bidding to select the developer. The base tariff per kWh will be set for reverse bidding by MAHAGENCO after analyzing the tariff quoted by bidders.

Bidders must arrange land for the project. The land could be owned or leased near the 11kV substation of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL). The capacity of each project must be 2 MW to 10 MW per the available grid connectivity feasibility provided by MSEDCL for the particular substation. Bidders must ensure and assess the capacity and grid connectivity of the substation.

Bidders must construct and erect a complete evacuation line along with Availability Based Tariff meters from the switchyard of the solar power project to the nearest MSEDCL substation. Meters will be located at the MSEDCL substation.

MAHAGENCO will sign the power purchase agreement with selected developers and a back-to-back power sale agreement with MSEDCL at the tariff discovered in the reverse bidding, plus the trading margin approved by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission.

In April, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited invited bids for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of a module cleaning system for MAHAGENCO’s 50 MW solar power project at Koudgaon in Maharashtra.

Last year, MAHAGENCO invited bids for the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, and commissioning of a 25 MW grid-connected solar project in Dhule district of Maharashtra.
