Bharat Heavy Electricals’ (BHEL) manufacturing unit at Ramachandrapuram in Hyderabad has invited bids for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of 1.5 MW solar power project for two years.

Bids must be submitted by July 17, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same date.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹36,000 (~$420).

Successful bidders must submit a 5% security deposit of the contract value. They must also pay 50% of the security deposit in advance of the contract value, after adjusting the EMD, before the commencement of work.

The estimated cost of work is ₹1.8 million (~$20,998).

The scope of the O&M work entails deploying technical, administrative, and officer personnel, and cleaning modules with water twice a month. It also involves logging of DC, AC, and grid parameters (current, voltage, power, and energy) at the power conditioning unit and high-tension panels.

Selected bidders must also log transformer temperatures, equipment tripping, grid outages, supervisory control and data acquisition station, and daily weather parameters.

Bidders must fulfil any of the following criteria:

  • They must have completed three similar works, each costing at least 40% of the estimated cost
  • They must have completed two similar works, each costing at least 50% of the estimated cost
  • They must have completed a similar work costing at least 80% of the estimated cost

Similar work refers to experience in O&M of solar projects or any electrical work at a minimum voltage level of 33 kV.

Bidders must have an annual average turnover of ₹540,000 (~$6,302) or 30% of the estimated cost in the last three financial years.

In March this year, BHEL invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction of solar projects with a total capacity of 1.2 GW at the Khavda solar park in Gujarat.
