BHEL Floats O&M Tender for 2 MW Rooftop Solar Project in Gujarat

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has invited bids for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of 2.015 MW rooftop solar systems for 54 months.

The systems are installed at eight sites of the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) in the city.

The last date to submit the bids is December 16, 2022. Bids will open the same day.

The project’s estimated value is ₹14.1 million (~$171,484).

Bidders must submit ₹240,000 ($2,913) as an earnest money deposit. The successful participant must furnish an amount equivalent to 5% of the total contract value as performance security.

The contractor should commence the work within seven days of receiving the work order.

In case of failure to start the work on time, BHEL will have the right to cancel the contract, and both EMD and/or security deposit will stand forfeited.

To be eligible, bidders should have an average annual financial turnover of at least ₹4.24 million ($51,387) or more over the last three financial years.

They should have prior experience executing similar works during the last seven years.

If three similar works are completed, the cost should not be less than ₹ 5.66 million ($68,635) for each work.

In the case of two similar works, the project cost should not be less than ₹7.08 million ($85,789) each, and for one work, the cost should not be less than ₹ 11.32 million ($137,284).

Last month, BHEL invited bids for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of a 40 MW solar power project of NLC India in the Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. The O&M duration for the project was for seven months.

In August this year, BHEL invited bids for the O&M of a 100 MW grid-connected solar power project at Raghanesda Solar Park (Phase-I) in Gujarat for ten years. The project’s estimated cost is ₹38.66 million (~$468,599).

The company had previously also invited bids for the O&M work of a 2 MW rooftop solar project at Diesel-Loco Modernization Works, Patiala, for 9.5 months.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, BHEL has issued O&M tenders for 990 MW of solar projects so far.
