Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) commissioned a 3 MW solar project at Velugam in the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The project was developed on a turnkey basis for Dadra and Nagar Haveli Power Distribution Corporation.
The project was inaugurated by Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, according to a BSE filing.
Mercom previously reported, the Indian Railways Organization for Alternate Fuel (IROAF), an Indian Railways entity, and BHEL entered into an agreement to develop a 2 MW solar rooftop project in the city of Patiala in southeastern Punjab.
