Bharat Coking Coal (BCCL), a wholly-onwed subsidiary of Coal India, has invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a cumulative 1.882 MW of rooftop solar systems under the net metering arrangement at Belgaria Township in Jharkhand.

The successful bidder must also oversee the project’s operation and maintenance for five years.

Bids must be submitted by December 31, 2024. Bids will be opened on January 2, 2025.

Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹1.27 million (~$14,970.68). The estimated cost of work, including GST, is 101.53 million (~$1.20 million).

The project must be completed in 180 days.

Bidders must coordinate with BCCL, the distribution company, and Chief Electrical Inspector to Government (CEIG) for the evacuation of power to the nearest substation.

They must also provide insurance for transit-storage-rection for all the materials to cover risks and liabilities for the supply of materials and their storage at the site, erection, testing, and commissioning.

Bidders must have completed any one of the following during the last seven years:

  • Three similar completed works, each costing not less than 40% of the estimated project cost.
  • Two similar completed works, each costing not less than 50% of the estimated project cost.
  • One similar completed work costing 80% of the estimated project cost.

Similar work means supplying, installing, commissioning, testing, and comprehensive maintenance of grid-connected rooftop solar projects as per the latest MNRE guidelines.

The bidders’ annual financial turnover during the last three years should be at least 30% of the estimated cost.

In 2023, Bharat Coking Coal invited bids for installing and commissioning 2.48 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems with net metering arrangements at 44 locations in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
