In an interview on the sidelines of the Mercom India Renewables Summit 2026, held in New Delhi on July 1 and 2, Prashant Choubey, President and Head of the Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Business at Avaada Group, discussed the role of green hydrogen in decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors and challenges in the offtake of green hydrogen. He also spoke about the factors driving large-scale renewable energy curtailment and pushed for diversification of renewable energy generation across India. He added that a combination of battery, pumped-storage, and green hydrogen can provide viable solutions to address curtailment.
