Anzen India Energy Yield Plus Trust, an infrastructure investment trust (InvIT) of Edelweiss Real Assets Managers, has completed its unit fundraising of ₹6.96 billion (~$75.35 million).

Anzen has used the funds raised, along with external debt, to acquire a 74% stake in 12 solar energy assets from the alternative investment fund Edelweiss Infrastructure Yield Plus and its affiliated entities. The enterprise value of the solar assets is approximately ₹25.2 billion (~$272.66 million).

The InvIT raised the funds through a preferential issue of 59,525,000 units at a price of ₹117 (~$1.27) per unit.

The unit fundraising saw participation from a diverse set of investors, including existing unitholders.

The latest acquisitions increase Anzen’s portfolio to 15 transmission and solar energy assets with a generating capacity of approximately 1.2 GW, including a 420 MW solar project in Rajasthan.

The InvIT’s energy assets under management are valued at roughly ₹65.22 billion (~$705.7 million).

Anzen has acquired a 100% stake in two transmission projects with a total network of about 855 circuit kilometres and two substations with a capacity of 1,400 MVA.

Edelweiss Real Assets Managers had secured a close on Anzen India Energy Yield Plus Trust in 2022, with an initial asset under management of over ₹23 billion (~$283.03 million). The funds for the trust were raised through private placement and received an encouraging response from a diversified set of institutional and eligible investors who hold approximately 26% of the units.

In December 2024, ReNew Energy entered into a definitive agreement to sell its subsidiary, ReNew Sun Waves, which operates a 300 MW solar project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, to Anzen India Energy Yield Plus Trust.

In March 2022, Solar cell manufacturer Jupiter International raised ₹1.7 billion (~$22.19 million) from funds managed by Edelweiss Alternative Asset Advisors. The capital raised included debt and a convertible to equity instrument.
