ACCIONA Commissions 412 MW Solar Project in Rajasthan

Spain-headquartered renewable energy company ACCIONA Energía has commissioned a 412 MW solar project in Juna, Rajasthan.
The project consists of 750,000 solar modules and is the company’s largest project in India. It is expected to generate 800 GWh of power annually.
The company had announced the construction of the solar project in February last year.
Bengaluru-based power trading company, Manikaran Power, will receive 70% of the power generated from the Juna project through a 15-year power purchase agreement. ACCIONA will sell the remaining 30% to the market.
In 2024, Waaree Energies secured a contract from ACCIONA’s subsidiary, Juna Renewable Energy, to supply 335 MW of bifacial p-type solar modules with a rated output of 540 W to 545 W.
ACCIONA operates four wind projects with a total capacity of 164 MW in India. The largest of these projects is in Bijapur district, Karnataka, with a capacity of 78 MW. It supplies power to BESCOM under a long-term purchase power agreement.
The company provides technology solutions in the wind (including offshore wind), solar, biomass, hydroelectric, and storage sectors.
In March this year, ACCIONA secured an AUD$453 million (~$287.85 million) syndicated loan facility to construct its 480 MW Aldoga solar project on the central Queensland coast in Australia. The company secured the facility through Cesce, the Spanish export credit agency, under its green investment policy.
In the same month, ORNX Consortium, which includes ACCIONA Energía, was among the winners of Morocco’s auction to develop green hydrogen.
In 2023, ACCIONA announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Solideo, a provider of self-consumption and solar energy solutions for residential customers and small and medium-sized enterprises in Spain. Solideo offers products and services to help customers reduce their energy bills and carbon footprint, such as photovoltaic solar panels, batteries for electric storage, charging points for electric vehicles, and aerothermal air conditioning systems.
