					</table><p>Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (<a href="https://jntuh.ac.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">JNTUH</a>), has invited bids for the long-term operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) contract of a 4 MW solar power project at the <a href="http://jntuhces.ac.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">University College of Engineering Sultanpur</a> in the Sangareddy district of Telangana.</p>
<p>The turnkey contract is for ten years from the date of agreement of the contract or up to the date specified by the institute.</p>
<p>The contract is to operate and maintain the 4 MW solar power project along with 22 kilometers of 33 KV transmission line from the 132 KV Annasagar substation at Jogipet to the University College of Engineering Sultanpur.</p>
<p>The last date to submit the bids is August 25, 2022. Bids will be opened on the same day.</p>
<p>Bidders must submit ₹55,000 (~$692.01) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder should furnish a performance bank guarantee of ₹250 (~$3.15)/kW totaling ₹1 million (~$12,581) for the 4 MW project.</p>
<p>The degradation of a maximum of 0.5-1% units every year would be allowed. The successful bidder will have to forfeit the performance bank guarantee amount for not producing the guaranteed minimum generation output.</p>
<p>Bidders must have more than five years of experience in the field of installation, operation &amp; maintenance, and commissioning of solar power systems for office buildings, commercial premises, and industrial houses with a cumulative capacity of 300 kW with an individual work not less than 100 kW in the last five financial years.</p>
<p>Their cumulative annual turnover should be at least ₹100 million (~$1.26 million) in the last five financial years preceding the bid deadline, subject to the condition that they should at least have completed one financial year.</p>
<p>The contractor should not transfer the management to any other individual or agency. The replacement of faulty equipment, carrying out repairs, and taking care of all the equipment is the sole responsibility of the contractor.</p>
<p>Under the supervision of the contractor, the project needs to produce a minimum guaranteed generation, which is 80% of the estimated value. For every unit (kWh) generated less than the minimum generation value, a penalty of 7.5% of the cost of a unit for the units not generated will be recovered from the O&amp;M charges.</p>
<p>Energy and cost savings have encouraged many educational institutions to transition to solar to meet their power demands.</p>
<p>Mercom had <a href="https://mercomindia.com/karnataka-school-saves-4000-on-monthly-bills-with-rooftop-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on how a public school in Karnataka could save up to ₹4,000 on monthly bills with a 4 kW rooftop solar power micro-inverter-based hybrid system.</p>
<p>In June this year, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University <a href="https://mercomindia.com/bids-1-mw-rooftop-solar-in-telangana/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to install 1 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems and small solar power systems under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model on university buildings at various locations in the state.</p>
