					</table><p>India-based electric mobility company <a href="https://www.motovolt.co/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Motovolt</a> said it has acquired a stake in <a href="https://www.erockit.de/en/home-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">eROCKIT</a>, a Germany-based electric two-wheeler original equipment manufacturer (OEM).</p>
<p>Motovolt has primarily focused on providing affordable micro-mobility solutions in India. eROCKIT is an electric two-wheeler that combines the performance of a motorcycle with the ease of use of an e-bike, resulting in a one-of-a-kind riding experience. It is accomplished with Human Hybrid technology.</p>
<p>Motovolt&#8217;s initial investment of €1 million (~$1.07 million) in eROCKIT is intended to support the product development and production of eROCKIT&#8217;s high-end models at their manufacturing facility located in Berlin, Germany.</p>
<p>Additionally, the company said it aims to invest approximately €10 million (~$10.7 million) in the industrialization of eROCKIT products, which could help Motovolt expand its offerings and enhance the quality of its electric mobility solutions.</p>
<p>This company said that the deal marks the first strategic merger and acquisition deal between an Indian EV startup and a German OEM. It could have significant implications for the electric vehicle industry, it added.</p>
<p>Additionally, the agreement is a step towards promoting Indo-German trade and collaboration in the electric vehicle sector.</p>
<p>The deal would provide Motovolt access to new technologies and resources by investing in a German electric vehicle manufacturer, while eROCKIT can benefit from Motovolt&#8217;s expertise in the Indian market.</p>
<p>Further, the deal would also allow Motovolt to leverage the German company&#8217;s technology to improve the entire range of Motovolt products, the company said.</p>
<p>Motovolt is an Indian company that was established in Kolkata in 2018, and it specializes in producing multi-utility electric bikes and scooters for mass commuters in the micro-mobility sector.</p>
<p>The company is committed to promoting sustainable mobility and aims to invest approximately €40 million (~$43 million) in the e-mobility business in the coming years.</p>
<p>It is worth noting that the electric vehicle market in India is expanding rapidly, with more than one million electric vehicles of all types <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ev-sales-clocked-record-one-million-units-2022" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sold</a> in the country last year alone.</p>
<p>This trend indicates a growing demand for sustainable transportation options and suggests that there is significant potential for electric mobility companies to succeed in the Indian market.</p>

Motovolt Acquires Stake in German Electric 2-Wheeler OEM eROCKIT

					</table><p>Convergence Energy Services (<a href="https://eeslindia.org/en/cesl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CESL</a>), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services (<a href="https://eeslindia.org/en/home/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">EESL</a>), has invited bids to select vendors for location survey, planning, design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 80 units of CCS2 50/60 kW electric vehicle chargers across multiple locations in India.</p>
<p>Successful vendors must provide three years of comprehensive on-site warranty and annual maintenance of the chargers for up to ten years.</p>
<p>The last day to submit the bids is August 10, 2022. Bids will be opened on the same day.</p>
<p>Bidders must pay a non-refundable fee of ₹25,000 (~$313) towards the cost of the bidding documents. They must also remit an earnest money deposit of ₹3.49 million (~$43,791). The successful bidder must submit a contact performance guarantee equivalent to 3% of the project within 28 days of the issue of the work order.</p>
<p>Bidders should be manufacturers of EV chargers for at least three years. Startups should have existed from the last financial year. Bidders must have supplied at least 24 CCS2 EV chargers of 50KW or above in the last three years to government departments, public sector undertakings, or distribution companies.</p>
<p>Bidders must have an average annual turnover of ₹52.47 million (~$658,384) in the last three financial years ending FY 2021-22. Their net worth in FY 2021-22 should not be less than 100% of paid-up share capital.</p>
<p>If prices quoted by participating micro and small enterprises (MSEs) fall within the price band of L1+15%, such MSEs will also be allowed to supply 25% of the total tendered quantity by bringing down their prices to LI prices. If more than one such MSE quotes within the L1+15% range, the supply will be shared proportionately, subject to the condition that such MSEs match the L1 price.</p>
<p>If the order execution is delayed, liquidated damages equivalent to 0.5% of the value of the unexecuted portion of work for each week of delay and part thereof, subject to a maximum of 5% of the contract&#8217;s total value, will apply.</p>
<p>CESL had earlier <a href="https://mercomindia.com/tender-floated-for-setting-up-810-ev-charging-stations/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a request for proposal to install and maintain 810 EV charging stations for four-wheelers on 16 highways and expressways across India.</p>
<p>Minister of State for Heavy Industries Krishan Pal Gurjar recently <a href="https://mercomindia.com/2877-ev-charging-stations-approved-under-fame-ii/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> 2,877 EV charging stations in 68 cities across 25 states and union territories under the second phase of the FAME-II program.</p>

Tender Issued to set up 80 Electric Vehicle Chargers Across India

					</table><p>Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments (<a href="https://www.reiljp.com/index.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">REIL</a>) has invited bids for the survey, planning, supply, installation, and commissioning of 409 electric vehicle (EV) chargers in nine cities and across three national highways and one expressway.</p>
<p>The EV chargers must have a comprehensive onsite warranty of three years.</p>
<p>The last date to submit the bids online is July 13, 2022. Bids will be opened the following day.</p>
<p>Bidders will have to submit ₹12.5 million (~$160,014) for 122 KW (CCS 2, CHAdeMO, AC Type-II) chargers and ₹600,000 (~$7,680) for CCS-2 (100 kW) chargers as an earnest money deposit. They must also submit an amount equivalent to 3% of the contract value as a security deposit.</p>
<p>The project&#8217;s estimated cost is ₹520 million (~$6.66 million).</p>
<p>The project must be completed within two weeks from the date of clearance and commissioning within one week from the date of intimation.</p>
<p>The chargers will be installed at:</p>

<p>Bidders should have technology rights for the products offered.</p>
<p>Bidders must supply an armored copper cable of 95 sq. mm, 3.5 core of length 10 m per charger for power.</p>
<p>After commissioning, live testing must be conducted for all the chargers with a compatible EV. REIL&#8217;s representative must approve the live testing, installation, and commissioning reports.</p>
<p>The charging equipment must come with a comprehensive extended onsite warranty and the annual maintenance contract package of at least three years (extendable up to 10 years) from the installation and commissioning of the charging equipment.</p>
<p>Bidders should submit details of in-house facilities for manufacturing and testing EV chargers, including the testing facility of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and other related technical standards.</p>
<p>For 122 KW (CCS 2, CHAdeMO, AC Type-II) chargers, bidders should have completed three orders of EV chargers or similar products costing not less than ₹200 million (~$2.56 million) or two orders of EV chargers costing not less than ₹250 million (~$3.21 million) or one order of EV chargers costing not less than ₹400 million (~$5.12 million).</p>
<p>Bidders must have an average annual turnover of ₹150 million (~$1.92 million) in the last three financial years.</p>
<p>For CCS-2 (100 kW) chargers, bidders should have completed three orders of EV chargers or similar products costing not less than ₹9.3 million (~$119,050) or two orders of EV chargers costing not less than ₹11.7 million (~$149,773) or one order of EV chargers costing not less than ₹18.7 million (~$239,381).</p>
<p>Bidders for this category must have an average annual turnover of ₹7 million (~$89,607) in the last three financial years.</p>
<p>The bidders&#8217; net worth in the last financial year should be positive for both categories.</p>
<p>If the item is not delivered or installed on time, liquidated damages at 0.50% of the item&#8217;s value per week, subject to a maximum of 10% of the value, will apply.</p>
<p>In 2020, REIL <a href="https://mercomindia.com/reil-set-up-ev-charging-stations/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to empanel agencies for EV charging stations. The scope of work included identifying the location, development, operation, and maintenance of the interoperable electric chargers and associated infrastructure for all EV segments.</p>

Rajasthan Electronics Invites Bids to Install 409 EV Chargers Across Nine Cities

<p>Brihan-Mumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (<a href="https://www.bestundertaking.com/in/iis6954.asp?lang=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BEST</a>) has invited bids to select an operator to install and operate the electric vehicle (EV) charging stations by sharing the infrastructure of BEST.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes installation, operation, and maintenance of EV charging stations (including charger management software and mobile app) in Mumbai and suburbs on 55 sites for ten years.</p>
<p>The last date to submit the bids is June 26, 2022. Bids will be opened on July 1.</p>
<p>The project must be completed within six months from signing the contract.</p>
<p>The tender has been floated under the Faster Adoption &amp; Manufacturing of Hybrid &amp; Electric Vehicles (FAME-II) program, which was launched in April 2019. FAME-II was initially intended for three years ending March 31, 2022. However, it was <a href="https://mercomindia.com/fame-program-electric-vehicles-extended/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">extended</a> earlier this year by 24 months until March 31, 2024.</p>
<p>Bidders will have to submit ₹1 million (~$12,860) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder will have to furnish ₹5 million (~$64,300) as a security depositor within 30 days from the letter of acceptance by BEST.</p>
<p>Bidders should have been operating for at least three years as of the date of publishing of tender notice.</p>
<p>They should have installed at least 25 EV charging stations in India or international markets for six months or more as of the date of publication of the request for proposal. The experience of the promoter or promoter group companies in setting up EV charging stations will also be considered for eligibility.</p>
<p>Bidders should have an average annual financial turnover of at least ₹400 million (~$5.14 million) during the last three financial years.</p>
<p>In the last financial year, they should have a positive net worth of at least ₹200 million (~$2.57 million).</p>
<p>The chargers must be certified by an approved government testing agency and tested per Indian and Bharat EV standards, including communication protocol interoperability.</p>
<p>A minimum of 135 chargers and 330 charging guns are to be installed.</p>
<p>Bidders should conduct a market survey for the type of fast chargers used for the vehicles (3W, 4W, Vans, etc.) at each site. BEST will allocate three to six parking bays to install the chargers and utilize the space for EV charging at each location.</p>
<p>The successful bidder will seek a new electrical connection from the distribution company as per load requirement and pay monthly bills towards electricity charges.</p>
<p>BEST will allocate space to install and operate the charging station to the successful bidder for ten years.</p>

BEST Invites Bids for Installation of EV Charging Stations in Mumbai

<p>Bangalore-based electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure startup <a href="https://www.revos.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">REVOS</a> has received $4 million in Series A funding. With this, the company has raised $4.5 million in funding to date.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.usv.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Union Square Ventures</a> and <a href="https://primevp.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Prime Venture Partners</a> participated in the funding round.</p>
<p>The funding will be used for expanding the company&#8217;s peer-to-peer (P2P) electric vehicle charging network and smart EV platform for electric two-wheelers (E-2W) and three-wheelers (E-3W).</p>
<p>The company will deploy EV chargers across the country and strengthen its technology team. It also aims to enhance its EV charging network to one million chargers in 500 cities across India in the upcoming three years.</p>
<p>According to REVOS, its smart EV platform tracks, monitors, and controls battery management systems and motor controller that enables EVs to have connected features like on-bike navigation, diagnostics, smart alerts, and anti-theft lock.</p>
<p>The platform stores data into the cloud through a live stream that can be interpreted by machine learning to provide useful insights to EV manufacturers to explore new business models, deliver quality service, and improve the consumer experience.</p>
<p>The company also expects to pilot its P2P charging infrastructure with an Internet Of Things (IoT) enabled charging point, compatible with any portable charger that comes with all EVs in India and works with the existing AC power supply at home and establishments.</p>
<p>REVOS has deployed 10,000 devices in 30 original equipment manufacturers across India, China, Vietnam, Nepal, and Egypt. It is also expected to launch soon in Europe and other parts of Southeast Asia.</p>
<p>Mohit Yadav, Co-founder of REVOS, said, &#8220;This fundraiser is an important step in our journey. We are focused on democratizing the technology for EVs and chargers so that anyone can build a smart EV or participate in building the P2P charging network. We believe this will be key to the large-scale adoption of EVs in the future.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;We also plan to invest more energy into our developer software development kits (SDK) and application programming interfaces (APIs) to make our stack the most developer-friendly stack ever. <p>Last month, Pune-based startup providing EV charging solutions goEgoNetwork <a href="https://mercomindia.com/ev-startup-goegonetwork-raises-seed-funding/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised</a> $2 million in seed funding to expand its electric charging network.</p>
<p>According to Mercom&#8217;s <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/product/1h-q2-2021-funding-ma-report-storage-grid-efficiency/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">1H and Q2 2021 Funding and M&amp;A Report for Storage, Grid &amp; Efficiency</a>, smart charging companies received the most funding ($271 million in 8 deals) in 1H 2021.</p>

Electric Mobility Platform REVOS Raises $4 Million in Series A Funding

<p><a href="https://lsin.panasonic.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Panasonic Life Solutions India</a>, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Panasonic Corporation, has joined hands with <a href="http://pmi-india.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">PMI Electro Mobility Solutions</a>, a manufacturer of ‘zero-emission’ commercial vehicles, to set up electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across 17 cities in India for over 1,000 electric buses.</p>
<p>PMI has to provide electric buses, which can cover 200-220 kilometers daily, in four states in India. For these electric buses, Panasonic will provide fast charging solutions that can charge the bus within 40 minutes.</p>
<p>Panasonic said that its electric mobility ecosystem portfolio incorporates both alternating current (AC) chargers and direct current (DC) chargers. It provides its charging solutions to EV fleet owners, e-commerce, and logistics companies to help manage their fleets efficiently.</p>
<p>Dinesh Aggarwal, Joint Managing Director of Panasonic Life Solutions India, said, “We are excited about extending our e-mobility services across the states of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, and Odisha in the first phase. With this, we aim to create an infrastructure that will cater to the unsatiated needs of multiple stakeholders and inspire the public to use sustainable technologies such as EV.”</p>
<p>“The opportunity for electric mobility in the country is huge, and it is paving the pathway for electrification across other modes of transport. To encourage wider adoption of e-mobility, the central government introduced the second phase of the <a href="https://mercomindia.com/india-budget-adoption-electric-vehicle/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">FAME</a> program, which was required to encourage EVs through an ecosystem of research, manufacturing, storage, and charging infrastructure,” he added.</p>
<p>As of January 2020, the Department of Heavy Industries <a href="https://mercomindia.com/2636-charging-stations-approved-across-states-fame-ii-program/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">approved</a> 2,636 electric vehicle charging stations in 62 cities across 24 states and union territories under the second phase of the FAME India program.</p>
<p>In November 2020, Okaya Power <a href="https://mercomindia.com/okaya-bags-eesl-contract/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">bagged</a> a World Bank-funded contract from the state-run Energy Efficiency Services Limited to deploy 1,020 EV charging stations across the country.</p>

PMI Electro Mobility and Panasonic Partner to Set Up EV Charging Stations in 17 Cities

<p>The Energy Efficiency Services Limited (<a href="https://www.eeslindia.org/content/raj/eesl/en/home.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">EESL</a>) has invited bids for power conversion systems and fast combo electric vehicle (EV) chargers.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes the planning, supply, installation, and commissioning with three years of comprehensive on-site warranty for 1,020 power conversion Systems (PCS) of all types (DC-001 15 kW CCS2 50 kW Type 2 AC 22 kW) and fast combo chargers (122-150 kW CCS2+ CHAdeMO+ AC Type 2).</p>
<p>The last date for the submission of online bids is April 28, 2020, and a pre-bid meeting will take place on March 31, 2020.</p>
<p>The bidder should submit an amount of ₹12,00,000 (~$15,773) for Lot 1, ₹14,00,000 (~$18,402.6) for Lot 2, ₹17,00,000 (~$22,346) for Lot 3, ₹14,00,000 (~$18,402.6) for Lot 4, ₹300,000 (~$3,943.41) for Lot 5, ₹200,000 (~$2,628.94) for Lot 6, ₹400,000 (~$5257.89) for Lot 7, ₹1000,000 (~$13,144.7) for Lot 8, and ₹2,00,000 (~$2,628.94) for Lot 9 as the bid security deposit.</p>
<p>To take part in the bidding process, the bidder should be in the business of manufacturing electrical equipment related to battery chargers, storage batteries, electrical switch gears, transformers, converters, cables, and meters for the past three years.</p>
<p>The bidder should submit details of in-house facilities for manufacturing electrical equipment related to battery chargers, storage batteries, electrical switch gears, transformers, converters, cables, and meters, which should include a testing facility for mechanical, electrical, electronic, and other related technical standards.</p>
<p>With regard to the financial criteria, the bidders should be profitable in at least two of the last three preceding years. For a joint venture or consortium, the profitability condition should be complied with by all the consortium members. The net worth of the bidder should not be less than 100% of the paid-up capital, and in the case of a consortium, it should be complied by all the consortium members.</p>
<p>The average annual turnover of the bidder should not be less than ₹172 million (~$2.26 million) for Lot 1, ₹203 million (~$2.66 million) for Lot 2, ₹251 million (~$3.29 million) for Lot 3, ₹212 million (~$2.79 million) for Lot 4, and should not be less than ₹47 million (~$617,802) for Lot 5.</p>
<p>Similarly, it should not be less than ₹27 million (~$354,907) for the Lot 6, ₹56 million (~$736,104) for the Lot 7, ₹156 million (~$2.05 million) for Lot 8, and should not be less than ₹36 million (~$473,210) for Lot 9 for the last three financial years.</p>
<p>In the case of consortium bids, the combined turnover of all the partners should be considered. Each member should have been in existence for at least three years, and the combined turnover of all the consortium partners should be considered, subject to the lead member and other consortium members having a turnover of at least 40% and 25% respectively.</p>
<p>Recently, EESL <a href="https://mercomindia.com/eesl-ev-management-jharkhand/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">invited bids</a> from management agencies for the deployment of its electric cars to various government organizations and public sector undertakings on lease and rental models in Jharkhand.</p>
<p>Earlier, EESL had announced that it had <a href="https://mercomindia.com/eesl-installs-one-million-smart-meters-india/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">successfully</a> installed one million smart meters across India under the Smart Meter National Program (SMNP).</p>
