Last year too, the MNRE held the second edition of RE-INVEST 2018 in October.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released a new circular which states that the third edition of global renewable energy investors’ meet and expo will be held in New Delhi/NCR from 3-5 October 2019.

“All stakeholders in the renewable energy domain, i.e., industry, developer, independent power producers, investors, financing institutions, academia, and research communities are requested to block their date and participate in the event,” said the circular.

More details about the event, which is also commonly known as RE-INVEST, are likely to be made available later.

Last year, the MNRE had postponed the second edition of  RE-INVEST 2018 from April to October. Now, with the announcement of the next RE-INVEST to be held in October, it seems that the ministry is more comfortable with holding it in the third quarter of the year and may follow the same timeline for future editions of the RE-INVEST.

Last year, Mercom had reported on the inauguration of the second edition of Global RE-Invest on October 2, 2018, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, and Minister of Power R.K. Singh.

Speaking at last year’s inaugural ceremony, PM Modi underpinned the importance of solar by his slogan, ‘One World, One Sun, One Grid’, through which the PM implied the coming together of the entire globe in order to harness solar power 24*7, thus not limiting the duration of exploitation of solar power to daytime.

He also expressed hope that the establishment of ISA, which is now an international inter-governmental treaty-based organization,  will assume the same significance and influential position as is currently enjoyed by OPEC nations. For the uninitiated, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is an influential intergovernmental organization of 15 nations.
